The Foreign Minister affirms Egypt's support for the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry affirmed Egypt's full support for the Palestinian cause and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the basis of international legitimacy and relevant international resolutions.

"My thanks" said during his speech to the Arab League Council today that reaching a comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue based on the establishment of a fully sovereign Palestinian state is one of the main keys to stability in the region and allows this region to catch up with development and prosperity and stop those who exploit it to spread terrorism in the region.

Shoukry pointed out that the hands of the Arabs remained and are still extended to peace, according to the Arab Peace Initiative and the references adopted by the world and regarded their respect as the basis of the international system that preserves international peace and security.
